About the Artist
I studied at Blackpool art college in the 70s for two years, but beyond that, I am self-taught. I painted in a folk art style for many years - I have worked as a signwriter, narrowboat painter, fairground and horse-drawn wagon artist. In the past few years, I have been able to concentrate more on traditional painting on canvas, in my preferred medium of oils, and am enjoying learning new techniques and exploring new subjects. All examples of my work shown here are executed in oils on canvas.
I also make quirky, unique ceramics in my small home studio, and sell a few pieces locally and internationally. I teach art and pottery to the local community in the village hall at Bishops Cannings, which I very much enjoy.
