About the Artist
I moved to Wiltshire 23 years ago having lived and worked in London for 25 years working in the printing Industry, commuting to London for 5 of those years. The serenity of living in a small hamlet just below the rolling hills of the Ridgeway was just what I needed to escape the pressure of newspaper deadlines. So, it was not a difficult decision to swap a busy London life for the countryside permanently, and I now concentrate on a very large garden, veg patch and my art. During my time in Wiltshire, I have met some really nice people at one- or two-day art classes across the county.
I have always enjoyed anything creative, and wanted to immerse myself in the countryside where I had decided to live. I joined a monthly art club created by Kim Vines at Crofton and have been attending Kim’s classes for 10 years mainly working on pastels, and enjoy time spent learning as much as I can about the different mediums.
I have also had several painting holidays in Italy and Spain and really enjoy having the time to paint or draw with no distractions amongst likeminded people.
I have ventured into water colours and oils in this past 2 years and enjoy both although I would like to improve my oil paintings skills.
Marlborough College summer school always makes me enthusiastic to pursue different forms of art, and I am passionate about improving and working alongside other artists.
I am more experienced at pastel work than the other mediums but I very much want to gain experience in both water colour and oils.
I am really looking forward to being part of the Guild of artists and having the opportunity to meet the artists that are already established there.
